Our Story
Active Wine Adventures was launched by Sorel Klein in 2016. A Northern California native with Napa Valley roots going back 5 generations, Sorel moved to Napa over 20 years ago.
Prior to starting his tour business, his experience included wine industry sales; outreach/marketing for a public transportation agency; and leading museum tours. He's also been a news/feature reporter and taught English in Japan and the U.S.
While studying French language and literature in France, Sorel developed a taste for fine wine and cuisine that has deepened during his years in the Napa Valley. His favorite wines are typically Napa Cabernet Sauvignon or red blends, but he appreciates a wide variety of wines and has visited 250+ wineries in Napa | Sonoma.

Sorel has an appreciation for all the arts, and has studied literature, stage and voice acting, writing, and photography.
Having traveled widely in Europe and Asia, including three years living in Japan, he's also passionate about travel, foreign languages and cultures. He's an avid lifelong hiker, nature photographer and frequent visitor to local, State and National Parks.
Sorel is eager to share his enthusiasm and knowledge of wineries, breweries, hiking trails, the arts and local history with visitors to Napa Valley & Sonoma Valley!
